Smith Sensational, 5-5 Wednesday, August 4th, 2021 It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Phillip Smith -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Bomber Ballpark and paced the Jokers to a 4-3 win over the South Carolina Bombers. After his dynamite batting performance the Las Vegas catcher told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book. Phillip Smith singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 10th. Smith is hitting .370 this season with 5 home runs, 21 RBIs and 18 runs scored. He has 40 hits in 108 at-bats. |
