Art Murdock Hurt, Out 11 Months
Tuesday, July 27th, 2021
The San Francisco Earthquakes learned that Art Murdock is likely to be out for 11 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Jersey Jesters. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn ulnar collateral ligament. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the San Francisco manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Art is back in action."

So far this season Murdock has picked up no saves in 46 relief appearances. He has also compiled a 3-1 won-lost mark with a 4.06 ERA and fanned 64 batters in 77.2 innings.
