Reader Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021 On top of the San Diego hit parade today was Kyle Reader. He went to the plate 5 times and tagged 5 hits, but it was New York that marched off with the 9-8 win. He certainly had their number at the plate in this record-making 5-5 performance, however the Mafia marked it up in the victory column. The sweet swinging left fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Hops griped to the press, "As a team, we just didn't do it with the bats and the pitching today. That's why we lost."
