Makaev Joins 3-HR Club Wednesday, June 9th, 2021 Badry Makaev was sending souvenirs to the sun gods all game long in the San Diego 12-3 triumph over Portland, launching not one, not two, but three home runs into the stands. Nobody who was at Waterfront Park will forget this home run outburst anytime soon. The San Diego left fielder went 4-5, rung up 6 RBIs and scored 3 runs on his record-setting day. He told the press corps after his three home run binge, "One homer's good, two's great, three's out of sight. I can't wait until tomorrow's game. I really feel good at the plate." Badry Makaev singled in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Zi-xing Feng in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Colby Hoffmann in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Fred Watson in the 8th. So far this season Makaev is hitting .312 with 11 home runs. |
