South Carolina Hold Off Jesters, Payne Picks Up 300th Save

"He's one of the best in the business and this milestone proves it," the South Carolina Bombers manager told BNN after Gary Payne closed out another Bombers win for his 300th-career save. "It's not always pretty, but the man just knows how to get his job done." The 35-year-old relief specialist gave up no runs and no hits in 1 innings of work in the Bombers 5-4 triumph over the Jersey Jesters. The game was played at The Royal Court at Jersey Yards.
Career-to-date Payne has chalked up 300 saves with a 49 wins and 53 losses.
