Jack English Notches 300th Save

So Cal Republic closer Jack English notched career save number 300 today during the Republic 6-3 over the Jacksonville Jacks. The 33-year-old hurler gave up no runs and 1 hit in 1 innings to close out the win. In the locker room after the game, English allowed himself a brief tongue-in-cheek moment to celebrate the milestone. He told reporters, "I want to thank all the pitchers who couldn't go nine innings for helping me reach this milestone ... and my manager who wouldn't let them go nine innings."
In his career English has appeared in 570 games, saving 300. His record is 38-39 and he has struck out 700 in 590.2 innings with a 2.86 ERA.
