Brian Smith to Miss 6 Months
Monday, May 3rd, 2021
The Washington Federals will have to make do without Brian Smith for 6 months. He suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Las Vegas Jokers. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the closer. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back."

Up to this point in the season, Smith has put up these stats: 14 relief appearances, no saves, 17 IP, 22 strikeouts and 3.18 ERA. His won-lost record is 2-1 with the opposition is hitting .250 against him.
