Hit Streak Now at 20 for López
Friday, April 30th, 2021
The Hops proved to be mere mortals today as they lost to the Tornadoes 10-3, but Daniel López continued his god-like hitting as he collected 1 hit and ran his hitting streak to 20 games.
When asked about his torrid-hitting right fielder, the San Diego skipper said, "López is playing great and is on fire now. Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."
López was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said, "We lost the game. Nothing else really matters." Daniel López struck out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.
This season López has banged out 33 hits in 90 at-bats for a .367 average with 3 home runs. He is getting on base at a .402 pace and his totals also include 17 RBIs and 18 runs scored.
