Bancroft Goes on Rampage Against Jacks Thursday, April 29th, 2021 On top of the Portland hit parade today was Pat Bancroft. He went to the plate 5 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Beavers to a 8-1 victory over the Jacksonville Jacks. The sweet swinging right fielder told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Jacks wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Pat Bancroft hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Yannis Legrand in the 7th and doubled in the 9th. This year Bancroft is batting .299 with 26 hits and 2 home runs. He has scored 16 times and has batted in 15 runs. |
