Bi Triumphs in Cy Young Award Voting

He's in the early phase of his career, but this past season Chuk-yan Bi performed like a veteran on the hill for the Yokohama Bay Stars and walked away with the Central League Cy Young Award in the process.
The 18-year-old Bay Stars star fashioned a 9-2 won-loss record in 2021 with a 3.08 ERA. In 122.2 innings of work and 19 starts, Bi struck out 119 while giving up 117 hits and 21 walks. He held opposing batters to a .249 average.Rahmad Bintang of the Hanshin Tigers finished second in voting, while Manuel Sánchez of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp finished third.
