20 Games in a Row for Xiao Wednesday, April 21st, 2021 Long hitting streaks don't happen very often and when they happen it perks up everybody's interest. No one knows how long it will go -- it could end tomorrow -- but baseball fans and Zhang Xiao are enjoying the moment right now. The 17-year-old Yomiuri second baseman extended his string to 20 consecutive games in Ballpark of Yamagata College today. Xiao got 1 hit, but the Hiroshima Toyo Carp got the victory. They toppled the Giants 4-1. Zhang Xiao grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. Thus far this year Xiao has hit .352 with 1 home run and 16 RBIs. |
