Jiménez Goes on Rampage Against Capitals Monday, March 22nd, 2021 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for José Jiménez. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Jiménez went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Victoria pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at Ballpark of Chilliwack College, he had a career 6-6 day and something he will long remember. And the Niagara Stars had a 14-3 victory over the Capitals. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. José Jiménez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Lionel Blanchet in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Jiménez has batted at a .456 pace with 31 hits, 3 home runs, 13 RBIs and scored 21 times. |
