3-HR Game for Lerma Friday, April 9th, 2021 Gustavo Lerma, first baseman for the Georgia Bulldogs, had a whale of a game, rocketing three balls out of Field of the Shield against the South Illinois Salukis today in their 8-6 victory. After the game he said, "I got some good pitches to hit and I creamed them. The first was a big, fat fastball and the last two were hanging curves... all three were mistakes." For the game Lerma was 4-4 with 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Lerma added, "There's a fine line between hitting home runs and line drives. Today I found the home run stroke." Gustavo Lerma singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Héctor Navarro in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Héctor Navarro in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Raúl Valéncia in the 7th and walked in the 8th. This season Lerma is batting .261 with 30 hits, 11 home runs, 23 RBIs, .336 OBP and has scored 16 runs. |
