5-Hit Barrage by Mooney Wednesday, March 31st, 2021 Who needs batting practice? Tim Mooney of Arkansas apparently doesn't as he battered Miami with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 19-9 win. He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 6 day... will my name be in the record books now?" Tim Mooney hit a solo-shot off Ricardo Negrete in the 3rd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Damon Sanders in the 7th and hit a two-run triple in the 8th. This season Mooney is swinging the bat at a .319 pace. He has hit 4 home runs and scored 8 times, while driving in 13. His on-base percentage is .333 and he has played in 15 games. |
