Cyclones Left Fielder Castillo Injured Wednesday, September 8th, 2021 Fernando Castillo at first refused to leave today's Barrow-Coney Island game after he suffered a fractured ankle while colliding with a player at a base. But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I want to be on the field," the feisty Coney Island left fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Castillo out of action for 4 months. This year Castillo has hit 5 home runs and posted a .335 batting average. |
