Hunt Goes 5-6 Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 Jake Hunt told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Hunt of the Sandy Springs Spartans did against the Ottawa Outlaws. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Outlaws, who suffered a 17-5 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Jake Hunt singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th. To date this year Hunt is batting .378 with 20 home runs. |
