Gómez Wins ACL Top Pitcher Award Sunday, August 1st, 2021 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Juan Gómez, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats closer, 26, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .182 average and walked away with the Alexander Cartwright League Pitcher of the Month award for July. Gómez posted a 3-0 mark and a 0.71 ERA in 14 relief appearances. In 12.2 innings, he had 8 saves, 15 strikeouts, and 5 walks. Looking at his season stats to date, Gómez has 26 saves in 46 relief appearances with a 4-4 mark and 3.38 ERA. |
