13-Game Suspensions for Egipciaco-Akamatsu Fight Friday, June 25th, 2021 After an intense confrontation, both the Beehive Anastasio Egipciaco and the Jail Birds Otojiro Akamatsu were handed their punishments today. The league commissioner's office issued suspensions for an on-the-field conflict that occurred at a recent Madison-Newark game. Both players will miss 13 games as a result of their actions. "Sometimes we go too far and have to pay the consequences," Anastasio Egipciaco commented later. "Hopefully cooler heads will prevail the next time we play." In 59 games Egipciaco is hitting .255 this season with 52 hits, 3 home runs, 27 RBIs, 23 walks, .343 OBP and has scored 20 runs. To this point in the season Akamatsu has no saves in 9 relief appearances with a 3-0 record and 2.93 ERA. |
