5-Hit Barrage by Salgado Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 After the Carson City 19-9 victory over Cincinnati and his 5-hit day second baseman Juan Salgado told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good. Three or four hits even better, five or more are out of sight ... and if it is in pro ball, it is really something special." The 19-year-old player gained that distinction today at Cowboys Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Cincinnati Snaps. The skipper of the Mustang spoke glowingly of Salgado, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Juan did that to perfection today." Juan Salgado singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a GRAND SLAM off Chung Hang in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in th e 8th. Presently Salgado is batting .376 and has collected 3 home runs, 27 RBIs, .423 OBP and scored 13 runs. |
