ACL Player of the Week Goes to Jiménez of Newark Monday, April 26th, 2021 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week Gilberto Jiménez of the Newark Jail Birds reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Jiménez rocked opposing pitching for a .611 average (11-18), 3 home runs and 11 RBIs to come away with the award. Looking at his stats this year, Jiménez has compiled a .313 batting average, while hitting 4 home runs and driving in 14 runs. He has played in 12 games and scored 9 runs. |
