Bulls Sasaki Suspended
Thursday, September 30th, 2021
Durham Bulls shortstop Natsu Sasaki received a 4-game suspension from the league office after he was ejected from a game with the Albuquerque Cacti recently.

"I knew I probably was going to be suspended," said Sasaki. "We just didn't know how many games. I ain't really surprised about the suspension. What I did was wrong. You never get into it with an umpire like that. Something bad is going to happen, probably a suspension. I just hate it had to come to that."

Sasaki was ejected when he complained bitterly about a called third strike. Sasaki was called out by the home plate umpire. He immediately spun around and stared at the ump and then used both hands to throw his helmet to the ground. At that point, Sasaki was ejected. By that time his third base coach and manager had gotten between the pair. Then Sasaki climbed on the back of his coach trying to reach the umpire. After tussling with him, both men got the irate player calmed down and under control and got him to go back to the dugout and to leave the premises.

For the year Sasaki is hitting .333 with no home runs. His stats include 1 run batted in and 2 runs scored.
