McCullough Rocks Unionists for 3 HRs Thursday, July 29th, 2021 Regardless of where you stand on the "hardest thing to do in sports" argument, one thing everyone can agree on, is that hitting three home runs in one game is quite an amazing feat. That's exactly what Bob McCullough did today at Bulldog Stadium. He went deep three times and carried his team to victory in the Amarillo Horseman 11-2 win over Winston. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," McCullough said. "Good things happen, when that happens." He blistered the Unionists for 4 hits, batted in 6 runs and scored 3 times. The Winston skipper said, "It ain't like we weren't trying. He was hot and really torched my boys today." Bob McCullough hit a solo-shot off Dan Chandler in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Miguel Cuevas in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Doyle Sullivan in the 8th. This year McCullough has hit at a .274 clip with 104 RBIs, 31 home runs and 77 runs scored. |
