3 Boomers for Rivers Thursday, July 29th, 2021 Mal Rivers, the South Bay center fielder, blasted three homers today at Cruz Bay Park in the Arsenal 9-7 victory against the Silver Lake Baristas. For the game, Mal Rivers scored 4 times and knocked in 4 runs. When he hit his last home run, his teammates, hearing the crack of the bat, leaped off the bench and rushed on the field to greet the jubilant Rivers, when he reached home plate. In the clubhouse after the game, he gleefully said to the press, "It was just one game, but it sure was a lot of fun -- 3-for-3, three roundtrippers and a win. What a day!" Looking at his present stats, Rivers has compiled a .326 batting average in 23 games with a .388 on-base percentage, while hitting 5 home runs and driving in 17 runs. |
