Nicholson Hurls Bombers to Shutout Victory Monday, July 26th, 2021 Dave Nicholson had the Vancouver Canadians dancing to his tune today with a sparkling 3-0 shutout performance for the Bronx Bombers. He gave up 2 hits, issued no walks and had 10 strikeouts. Vancouver hitters were bewildered throughout the game by his delivery. The opposing manager said, "When you face a guy who hides the ball like he does, it takes a couple of at-bats to try to find his release point. We just never figured him out." Nicholson has gone 5-5 this season with an ERA of 4.78 and 93 strikeouts in 113 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .279 against him. |
