Baba Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, July 17th, 2021 And the hits just keep on coming -- especially off the red-hot bat of Masaki Baba. The Jokers right fielder got 3 hits in 4 at-bats in today's 5-4 triumph over the Eureka Hornets at The Nest. Baba has now hit safely in his last 20 games. Asked by the press, how it feels to go through something like this, he replied, "the longer it goes on, the more the pressure intensifies. The press coverage can get relentless at times. I wish I could just go out and play the game without all this distraction, but I know that's not going to happen. I know I will just have to grin and bear it." Masaki Baba hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th and struck out in the 8th. Thus far this year Baba is batting .375 with 16 home runs, 70 RBIs and 74 runs scored. |
