Graham Clobbers 3 HR Against Beavers
Tuesday, June 15th, 2021
It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game. It happened at Labatt Bleue Park today asDean Graham of the Montreal Bandits unloaded three times against the Portland Beavers. He got his name in the league record book, but his team didn't get the win. The Beavers bumped off the Bandits by a score of 14-13.
"We were lucky to win today," said the Portland skipper. "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis."
Graham spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings. "I'm happy to hit three homers and get my name in the record books, but a little sad because we lost."
Remarking on his big ballgame, he said, "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one. I was ahead in the count, so I got set for a certain pitch, and got it ... all of it."
For the game the Montreal third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 4 times, and drove in 7.
Dean Graham hit a three-run home run off Elvis Sharp in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Elvis Sharp in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Eric O'Farrell in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
Graham is hitting .280 so far this season with 45 RBIs and 36 runs scored. He has 67 hits including 15 home runs, 19 walks and .332 OBP.
