No Hits for López, Streak Ends at 20
Saturday, May 1st, 2021
Hops right fielder Daniel López went 0-for-4 today in San Diego's 2-1 triumph over the Kansas City Tornadoes, snapping his 20-game hitting streak.
López spoke to BNN after the game and said, "I knew the hitting streak would end sooner or later. I just would have preferred later."
When he made an out in his last chance at bat, his teammates congratulated him in the dugout.
The Tornadoes manager shrugged off the streak. "There's nothing scientific about it, that's for sure," he said. "He had a nice little run. Let him start another one when we finish the series here."
On the year López has hit .351 with 3 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 18 runs.
