Beavers Chill Esquivel's Hot Streak Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 Sergio Esquivel, center fielder for the San Francisco Earthquakes, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Portland Beavers. Not only had they stopped his 20-game hitting streak, they had beaten San Francisco 7-2, too. Speaking with the media after the game, Esquivel said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." |
