Star Upset over Hollywood Flop
Tuesday, December 28th, 2021
Gary Payne tested the waters of Hollywood this offseason, with a supporting role in the big budget action film, "Screaming Eagles". He was all smiles at last month's premier, posing on the red carpet for tabloid photographers. Unfortunately for Payne, the film did not enjoy the kindest of reviews. Critics have universally panned the movie, calling it "The Modern Day Ishtar." Payne's acting was also not well received, with one critic calling his performance as Sergeant Dick Grimes "pathetically laughable," and saying, "...he should stick to baseball."
The South Carolina Bombers's closer has yet to comment on whether or not he'll reprise his role as Grimes in the sequel announced earlier this week.
Most friends find that move unlikely as Payne has taken the critical panning harshly. One friend, wanting to remain anonymous was quoted as saying, "Gary has a big ego and was really hurt by the criticism of his acting. There is no way he will be doing a sequel."

Star CF Signs Pact with Bandits
Friday, December 24th, 2021
Montreal fans celebrated as word of a signing became reality. Tim Raines won't be pulling up stakes anytime soon, as he has signed a 2-year extension at a pay rate of $16,000,000 per annum.
Since he is widely seen as an integral part of the club, Montreal officials had to keep Raines from jumping ship.
Raines has a lifetime average of .320, has played in 955 games, and has collected 148 home runs and 662 RBIs.
