Skipper Ota Cut by Golden Eagles Friday, September 13th, 2019 Tohoku Rakuten is now without a skipper after the announcement of manager Takesi Ota's firing earlier today. Sources close to the Golden Eagles are saying that Ota had lost the confidence of the players while apathy and selfishness had taken over the clubhouse. The Tohoku Rakuten front office was unavailable for comment on the matter other than to confirm the manager's firing. A BNN poll done immediately after the announcement went public showed fan reaction seems mixed. "Glad that bum is gone," said one disgruntled fan. Several others clearly regretted the decision, telling reporters, "Ota did the best he could with the talent and money he had." No timetable has been set by the team for announcing a replacement. |
