Zhang on Fire: 5-6 for ORIX Saturday, July 13th, 2019 What a day for Tuo-zhou Zhang of the ORIX Buffaloes! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Chiba Lotte pitching apart at Sea Hawks Stadium and sparked the Buffaloes to a 7-3 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 6. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Zhang told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Tuo-zhou Zhang singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 8th and singled in the 10th. Presently Zhang is hitting .426 with 2 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 17 games and scored 24 times. |
