Carlos Hernández Drills 3 HR in One Game Tuesday, May 14th, 2019 It's a rare event when a player hits three homers in a game. It happened at Ballpark of Nasu College today asCarlos Hernández of the Chiba Lotte Marines unloaded three times against the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters. He got his name in the league record book, but his team didn't get the win. The Fighters bumped off the Marines by a score of 14-13. "We were lucky to win today," said the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham skipper. "You can't give up that many home runs and expect to win on a regular basis." Hernández spoke to the writers in the postgame press room with mixed feelings. "I'm happy to hit three homers and get my name in the record books, but a little sad because we lost." Remarking on his big ballgame, he said, "I guess you could say I was a good guesser today, especially on the last one. I was ahead in the count, so I got set for a certain pitch, and got it ... all of it." For the game the Chiba Lotte right fielder had 4 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 3 times, and drove in 3.
