Hernández Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Wednesday, August 1st, 2018 It wasn't just another day at the ballpark for Carlos Hernández. It was a very special day, one that many players never experience. But he did. Hernández went on a tear and cracked hit after hit off Hokkaido Nippon-Ham pitching. When the dust settled on the diamond at Ballpark of Nasu College, he had a career 5-5 day and something he will long remember. And the Chiba Lotte Marines had a 10-5 victory over the Fighters. "Yeah, it'll be something nice to tell the grandkids, but it won't get me a hit tomorrow," he joked in the postgame interview. Carlos Hernández singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and singled in the 8th. Thus far this season Hernández has hit .408 with 14 home runs, 33 RBIs and scored 28 times. |
