Kesiraju Raps 3 Homers Against Swallows Saturday, June 16th, 2018 Chunichi first baseman Arana Kesiraju sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Kesiraju predicted he would hit a home run against the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Dragons over the Swallows 15-9. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Kesiraju told reporters after the game. To go along with the homers, he collected 7 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Arana Kesiraju walked in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Yeow-whye Hou in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Chua chay Nan in the 4th, walked in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Oda Matsumura in the 6th and walked in the 9th. Kesiraju is batting .526 this year with 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and 7 runs scored. He has 10 hits in 19 at-bats. |
