Lei Gets 4-Game Suspension Thursday, May 3rd, 2018 Hassle an umpire and you will have to pay the consequences. Just ask Hokkaido Nippon-Ham second baseman Yong Lei. He argued to excess over a third strike yesterday in the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham-Saitama Seibu game at Field of the Chariots. Today the league office notified Lei that he had been given a 4-game suspension for his egregious conduct. Luckily the Fighters manager and the bench coach intervened physically and removed him from the field. Otherwise it might have gotten even worse. For the season Lei has produced 44 hits in 149 at-bats for a .295 average with 13 home runs and gotten on base at a .390 clip. |
