Fukuoka SoftBank Starter Named PL's Top Pitcher Tuesday, May 1st, 2018 There's something about a young rookie winning the Pacific League Pitcher of the Month trophy that sends shock waves through the league. Such is the case with Soleh Purbacaraka, a 18-year-old starter for the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. In April, he topped off the month with a 3-0 mark and 2.05 ERA in 4 starts, tossed 26.1 innings, fanned 34 and held opposing teams to a .198 average. This year Purbacaraka has compiled a 6-0 mark with a 1.96 ERA. |
