Vyapari Collects Player of the Week Award Monday, April 2nd, 2018 17-year-old Ashwini Vyapari made a few ORIX headlines during this past week as the rookie first baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Pacific League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 9 hits in 17 at-bats to put up a .529 average. Vyapari collected 3 home runs, 4 RBIs and scored 6 runs. For the season Vyapari has hit .310 with 3 home runs and 4 RBIs. He has played in 12 games and scored 9 times. |
