Saitama Seibu's Xiu Winner, PL Best Hitter in August Friday, September 1st, 2017 Lai-hsiang Xiu has a lot going for him. The Saitama Seibu first baseman just broke into the majors this year and now the Pacific League has just picked him as its top hitter for August. In 13 games last month, this outstanding rookie batted .341 with 5 home runs, 12 RBIs and 11 runs scored. For the season Xiu is currently batting .296 with 11 home runs and 34 RBIs. In 39 games he has reached base at a .409 rate and scored 28 runs to date. |
