Nakashima Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Wednesday, May 11th, 2016 The Fighters knocked off the Golden Eagles today by the score of 12-10, but Tohoku Rakuten first baseman Joji Nakashima still managed to extend his hitting streak to 20 games. He finished the day with 3 hits in 5 at-bats. Joji Nakashima singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Moromao Matsuura in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and flied out in the 9th. This season Nakashima is swinging the bat at a .392 rate with 38 hits in 97 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 18 runs and driven in 23. |
