Suzuki Blisters Fukuoka SoftBank Saturday, April 9th, 2016 After the Saitama Seibu 12-9 victory over Fukuoka SoftBank and his 5-hit day third baseman Teruo Suzuki told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special." The 20-year-old player gained that distinction today at Ballpark of Aomori College with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks. The skipper of the Lions spoke glowingly of Suzuki, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Teruo did that to perfection today." Teruo Suzuki grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Yosuke Yano in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and walked in the 9th. Looking at his stats this year, Suzuki has compiled a .556 batting average, while hitting 1 home run and driving in 9 runs. He has played in 5 games and scored 6 runs. |
