Nakayama PL Winner, Top Hurler in July Saturday, August 1st, 2015 In July when the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham manager wrote the name "Nakayama" on the lineup card, he knew he had a good shot at winning. Start after start in the month, Shinsui Nakayama took the hill, took charge and usually got the win. He dominated with a 4-0 mark and 2.16 ERA in 6 starts. The gifted Fighters star pitched 33.1 innings, fanned 35 and held opposing teams to a .230 average. For his outstanding mound performance Nakayama was named the PL Pitcher of the Month by the baseball writers. So far this year Nakayama has 9 wins and 3 losses and a 4.22 ERA. |
