Toshiki Takaki Out 4-5 Months Wednesday, May 15th, 2013 Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now Toshiki Takaki of the Marines knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks while colliding with a player at a base. Because of a torn back muscle, the Chiba Lotte first baseman is expected to miss 4-5 months. Takaki was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen." This season Takaki is hitting .310 with 26 hits, 6 home runs, 17 RBIs, scored 15 runs and played in 23 games. |
