5-6 Day for Gordon Monday, April 30th, 2018 Mark Gordon told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Gordon of the Niagara Stars did against the Calgary Outlaws. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Outlaws, who suffered a 17-14 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." Mark Gordon singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This season Gordon is swinging the bat at a .272 pace. He has hit 8 home runs and scored 31 times, while driving in 37. His on-base percentage is .342 and he has played in 44 games. |
