Collier and Coles Suspended 5 Games
Thursday, April 12th, 2018
At a recent Heat-Stars contest at Brantford College Grounds, Lee Collier of Kelowna took exception to what William Coles of Niagara said to him and tackled him. This led to an old-fashioned bench-clearing free-for-all between the two clubs. After the umpires restored order, they ejected both players.
Today the league commissioner's office took action and suspended each player for 5 games, citing them for "inappropriate and aggressive conduct."
This season Collier has hit at a .294 clip with 36 RBIs, 11 home runs and 22 runs scored. He has played in 36 games.
So far this year Coles has made 13 relief appearances with no saves, thrown 20.1 innings and struck out 27 with a 2-2 record.
