Big Day for Díaz: Swats 5 Hits Tuesday, April 10th, 2018 If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. At Drummondville College Grounds Bartolo Díaz showed how it's done as he went 5 for 5 against the Kelowna Heat. However this great day with the bat didn't pay off in a victory. The Niagara Stars fell 12-7. The manager of the Heat told the BNN sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames. Luckily we came away with a win today. Díaz just didn't get enough help." If Díaz keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise. Bartolo Díaz singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year Díaz is batting .340 with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and 27 runs scored. |
