Arredondo Goes Yard 3 Times

"It seems kinda odd, you know. I mean hitting three home runs in one game should be enough to win a game, right?" said a somewhat dejected Martín Arredondo today after his club's 13-10 defeat to Calgary.

"I guess that's why they call it a team sport. Tomorrow I might strike out four times and other guys pick me up and we win. It takes more than one guy to get a win."

The 17-year-old Saskatoon center fielder had a fantastic day against the Calgary Outlaws -- 3 homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 5 RBIs, and 4 scored.

There were no complaints from the Outlaws locker room after the game, however. "That guy really had a game, didn't he? Luckily we were able to pretty much shut down the rest of the team," one of the Calgary players told the reporters. "We feel good about getting out of here with the win!"

Martín Arredondo hit a solo-shot off Claudio García in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Claudio García in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Alastair Rawlinson in the 9th.
