5 Hits for Royales Muller
Sunday, April 23rd, 2017
It seemed that Montreal third baseman Gaëtan Muller could do no wrong as the Royales kayoed the Saints 17-0 today as he rapped out 5 hits in 6 at-bats. Trois-Rivieres pitchers couldn't get him out as Muller seemed to know which pitches they were throwing.
"I think the Royales were stealing signs," growled one unhappy Trois-Rivieres fan.
"I just felt good today. I saw the ball well and just wanted to make good contact and put the ball in play," said the jubilant Muller in the postgame press interview.
Gaëtan Muller hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Joe Easter in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
This year Muller has socked 53 hits in 156 at-bats for a .340 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .464 pace and his totals also include 40 RBIs and 42 runs scored.
