Owls Lose Smith for 8 Months Saturday, April 13th, 2019 Team doctors diagnosed David Smith with a torn anterior cruciate ligament and told the Rice Owls third baseman that he will miss 8 months. Smith was hurt running the bases in a game against the Long Beach State 49'ers. This season Smith has hit at a .305 clip and produced 22 runs batted in, 3 home runs and 18 runs. |
