Cantú Gets 5 Hits Tuesday, March 26th, 2019 It's not something you read about in the sports pages every day -- a 5-for-5 day. It might come around only once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Carlos Cantú got one today. He scattered hits all over Ballpark of Wrightsville College to pace Ole Miss to a 20-3 victory over Washington State. The Washington State skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Cantú hit several that he is not supposed to hit." Carlos Cantú hit a solo-shot off Martin Townsend in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Sergio Álvarez in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Tillmam Futre in the 7th. To date this year Cantú is batting .329 with 7 home runs. |
