Whatever it was, it provided some surprising power as the Ole Miss center fielder smacked three balls up and out of the park at Ballpark of Wrightsville College. His power surge sparked the Rebels to a 20-3 victory over the Cougars. He told BNN reporters, "When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you got a shot at a homer. I got three shots today and nailed them all." On his 3-homer day he went 5 for 5, scored 4 times, drove in 6 and put his name in the league record book. Carlos Cantú hit a solo-shot off Martin Townsend in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Sergio Álvarez in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Tillmam Futre in the 7th. This season Cantú is batting .329 with 7 home runs. |
